Step1: Check-in

Where to check-in

There are many ways to check in for your flight at Edinburgh Airport. These include:

  • Online check in
  • Mobile check in
  • Self-service check in
  • Desk check in

Checking in before you arrive at the airport is the easiest, fastest and most convenient method; time to select your seats, print your boarding pass and prepare your documents before arriving at the airport.

If you've checked in before arriving at the airport, you can skip straight to Step 2: Bag Drop. If you've checked in before arriving at the airport and don't have bags to check-in, you can skip to Step 3: Security.

Online check-in

If you have already checked in online and printed your boarding pass before arriving at the airport then all you need to do is drop off any baggage at our self-service bag drop facilities in the check-in hall. All easyJet and Ryanair passengers must check-in online before arriving at the airport.

Airport and airline staff members are available if you have any questions or concerns.

Most airlines operating from Edinburgh airport offer an online check-in facility. Further information can be found on your airline's website.

Mobile check-in

If your mobile phone can accept pictures you may be able to use mobile check-in to select seats and receive a mobile boarding pass. If you check-in using your airline's mobile app, your boarding card is sent directly to your phone.

Show this to the agent at the bag drop desk if you have hold baggage to drop off. For access to security control, you'll need to scan the mobile boarding pass on the barcode reader of the self-service access gate.

The airlines below provide a mobile check-in service. Please refer to your airline's website for information and guidance on using this service. Hint: search your airline's website on your mobile phone's web browser, the airlines mobile site should open. Here you'll find further information about mobile check-in.
